Memorial Day Celebration

Each year, the Shafter and Wasco Memorial Parks host Memorial Day Programs to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Both cemeteries partner with local service organizations to bring this meaningful event to life.

The program features speeches from military veterans, pastors, and community leaders who share messages of remembrance and gratitude. Local clubs and businesses donate beautiful floral wreaths, which are placed at each Veterans Memorial Wall, where the names of local veterans laid to rest in our cemeteries are displayed.

The ceremony concludes with a solemn retirement of the colors conducted by our local police departments, providing a fitting tribute to those who served and sacrificed for our nation.
