Balloon Mission is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about single-use balloons, encouraging responsible practices, and preventing litter on land and in our waters. The environmental organization is helping create eco-friendly remembrance rituals: bringing people together to heal, remember our loved ones, and find hope during life's most difficult moments. 

In accordance with California's Balloon Law 653.1 (1.1.2019) Kern County Cemetery District No. 1 prohibits the use of balloons during services, on the premises and grounds. 

"No person or group shall release, outdoors, balloons made of electrically conductive material and filled with gas lighter than air, as part of a public or civic event."
